Bushfires

There is an apocalyptic feel to the skies this morning, as the sun appears blood red against the backdrop of smoke drifting from the raging fires in the high country. The weekend had the city shrouded in smoke from the same fires, with the temperature pushing into the 40s. It is a stark and solemn reminder of the greater peril faced by many of our rural community.

Christmas Windows

Every Christmas we take the family journey down to see the Myer Christmas Windows. It is Caleb's 14th - and his enthusiasm for it has, well, changed over the years. This year's windows tell the story Wombat Divine, by Mem Fox.

Each year, in addition to the story panels, Myer adds a Nativity setting. We were fortunate this year that a friendly family offered to take a photo of all of us together. (Do we look as refreshed as during our holiday???)

And so another Christmas tradition in our family continues...
