Christmas Windows
Every Christmas we take the family journey down to see the Myer Christmas Windows. It is Caleb's 14th - and his enthusiasm for it has, well, changed over the years. This year's windows tell the story Wombat Divine, by Mem Fox.
Each year, in addition to the story panels, Myer adds a Nativity setting. We were fortunate this year that a friendly family offered to take a photo of all of us together. (Do we look as refreshed as during our holiday???)
And so another Christmas tradition in our family continues...

We went to see the windows last Saturday and I have lost track of the number of times since that Sophie has requested that we read the book ...not to mention her insisting on taking her little stuffed toy of the divine Wombat to bed each night.
But what a statement to make, eh? The nativity without the baby Jesus is no nativity at all...
Hope you didn't have to queue too long in the sun :).

Isn't that wonderful! While we were looking at the windows we were rehearsing some of the Mem Fox stories we had read to them when they were younger (such as "The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry and the Big Hungry Bear").
Fortunately we didn't have to face the sunshine. Being so close to the city, we took a casual stroll (no queues) on a Tuesday evening. It's great mid-week early in December as you can linger over the windows without holding people up.
